NYComedyRadio.com, a new humor website for up-and-coming talent from the New York comedy scene, is seeking written submissions from columnists, humorists, essayists, bloggers, comedy writers and general smart-asses.
What we are looking for:
Submissions should be witty, intelligent, perhaps a bit off-beat. A little New York attitude doesn't hurt, either. We are seeking a variety of humor styles from diverse points of view.
From rants about rude subway passengers to a scathing political send-up; from dating horror stories to advice for new comedians... If it is funny, or relevant to those of us in the business of comedy, we want it to be on our website.
Submissions should be no greater than 500 to 750 words (we have short attention spans), and should be written from your point of view.
We are also interested in setting up interviews with established "A-list" comedians, club owners and others in the industry who wish to share their knowledge with our readers. Naturally, we'll also be happy to work in any plugs you might have.
We prefer writers from the New York metropolitan area, but will strongly consider particularly funny submissions from writers in other locations.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
While we cannot pay contributors to our site, having your work featured on NYComedyRadio.com is a great way to get your name out there and gain a little extra exposure. We will provide a link to your website and brief biography at the end of each published work. Most importantly, your work remains yours; writers retain full rights to their submissions. In the coming weeks, will also be offering free banner/text advertising for frequent contributors to our site.
HOW TO SUBMIT:
Download and follow the instructions in our Submission Agreement in any of the following formats:
[MS Word .doc]
[Plain Text .txt]
[Rich Text .rtf]
MORE QUESTIONS?
As always, if you have questions about submitting your work, or any other questions about our site, please feel free to email us! We look forward to working with you...
