NYComedyRadio.com is a three-headed comedy monster.
The first head is a podcast radio station, featuring interviews with comedians and industry insiders, as well as live stand-up performances from the best and brightest up-and-coming talent from the New York comedy scene. You'll laugh, you'll learn.
The second head is what you're looking at right now: the web-based companion to our podcast station. This site will feature essays, rants and other humor pieces by comedians and generally funny wise-asses. It will also feature industry news, discussions, interviews, editorials... all sorts of wordy stuff that will also make you laugh and learn. So help me, you're gonna learn something, dammit.
But wait, there's more! You'll also find lots of comedy resources in our Comedy Store, where you can buy Comedy DVDs and CDs from dozens of funny mofos spanning decades of classic and modern comedy, as well as educational books, comedian biographies, joke books, TV series on DVD and more. Laugh, Learn, Rinse, Repeat. But for cryin' out loud, buy something.
And coming soon, we will unveil our Comedian Database and Venue Database. They are just what they sound like. Registration will be free. So once you're done laughing and learning, you'll hopefully have the resources to get off the couch in your parents' basement and get some paying gigs.
The third and final head, and our personal favorite, is our Nerd Services division, where we take your money. But don't worry, you get nice things in return, and we really don't take much. Our Nerds can design your website, edit your demo reel, transfer your video to DVD, and a whole lot more.
CONTENT WARNING
Prudes, Red Staters and Kiddies beware: Naughty words and controversial ideas are sometimes spoken within the hallowed pages of this site. If this offends thee, shut down thy computer now and hide under thy bed.
This site is intended for those with an open mind and a sense of humor. We would hope this would be obvious to those who can read the word "comedy" in the name of the website. Alas, we must sometimes point this out for the benefit of the stupid among us.
